I am moving to Austria in September as I have accepted a job near Salzburg. I'm going to use airbnb for accommodation to start, whilst I look for a permanent apartment. My questions are:
Is anyone renting a fairly central apartment in Salzburg, or one in Fuschl Am See?
I've seen some apartment adverts online too, but most apartments request 3 month's 'Kaution' as a deposit and 2 month's 'provision-beschreibung' as agency fees, and sometimes the 'mindestwert steuer' on top of that. If I have understood all of this correctly, would that mean that moving into a Protected content apartment would cost over Protected content up front just to move in? Does anyone have any tips or advice? That seems like a lot of money just to move in! Or is that completely normal in Salzburg?!
