Located in the San Joaquin Valley in California, Visalia is an important city for the area and is known for being an agricultural center. Visalia is very near to the Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks as well as Sequoia, which is why it has earned the nickname "The Gateway to the Sequoias". Expatriates living in Visalia will be able to enjoy many sights and attractions including the Kaweah Lake, the Tulare County Historical Museum and others. The city is very diverse and expats living in Visalia will find that the city has a rich culture and there are plenty of opportunities to explore arts and music. Visalia also has a thriving nightlife with plenty of bars and restaurants and there are of course also plenty of opportunities for shopping and leisure at Downtown Visalia and at Visalia Mall.
