Tokyo has so much to offer and InterNations made it much easier to become acclimated to life in this bustling city.

InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Tokyo

Hello to all Americans in Tokyo! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Tokyo? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Tokyo which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: Tokyo offers a fascinating mix of the ultra modern with the traditional. The Japanese capital is a very cosmopolitan city known for an internationally acclaimed food scene, its sheer size and population numbers, which 2019 estimates put at around 14 million, one of the world’s busiest yet highly performing subway systems, and much more! With the extremely comprehensive public transportation network consisting of railway, subway, commuter train, and bus services, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in one of the suburban wards such as Setagaya-ku, which are an easy, though possibly also lengthy, commute away from Tokyo’s center.

Although Tokyo has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Tokyo, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
