Altomünster–Erdweg Meditative Hiking Trail

It is about the “flow of life,” finding one’s own balance, and the “passion for being human”—the meditative hiking trail between Altomünster and the Petersberg in Erdweg satisfies both body and mind.

Several stations along the path invite us to pause and reflect. Perhaps we will spark a train of thought that accompanies us throughout the 10-kilometer route and beyond.

The starting and/or ending points are two significant monuments and spiritual sites: the Romanesque church on the Petersberg and the Baroque church in Altomünster.

A moderately strenuous hike along wide field and forest paths. Towards the end of the hike, the route leads via the "Finsterer Gang" (Dark Passage) to the impressive Abbey Church of St. Alto and St. Birgitta. The lovely market square in Altomünster offers several recommended places to stop for refreshments, where we can also sample local beer specialties from Altomünster.
