OV Cinema - Heart of the Beast
Hey everybody,
Let’s see this one: Adventure, real action, nature, survival in Alaska and its more than that!
After a devastating plane crash, Special Forces officer James Belmont (Brad Pitt) and his military dog Odin find themselves stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Together, they are forced to wage a brutal battle for survival against the elements. “Heart of the Beast,” from acclaimed filmmaker David Ayer, is a gripping adventure thriller that tells the story of the unbreakable bond between a man and his best friend as they face their greatest challenge yet.
This is a review I found:
Heart of the Beast is not simply a survival movie. It is a story about two wounded souls trying to find their way home.
David Ayer understands how to turn physical survival into emotional survival. The cold, the isolation, the silence and the enormous landscapes become part of James's inner battle. There is action, danger and brutality, but beneath it all lies a surprisingly human story about loyalty, trauma, friendship and redemption.
Heart of the Beast may look like a wilderness survival thriller, but its real subject is the will to keep going when everything inside you tells you to stop.
A powerful, emotional and beautifully crafted survival drama.
