Schliersee to Tegernsee Hike (the Classic)
With the fantastic weather forecast for Saturday, we will set off with the BRB from Munich Hauptbahnhof (RB55 at 9:02) to Schliersee. From the train station, the initial walk is flat and briefly along the lake to the Hennerer organic farm. From there, the path takes us steadily uphill for just over 1.5 hours. However, since the path mainly runs through sparse forest, it is easy to walk despite the warm temperatures ☀️. Finally, the three Gindelalmen will appear in front of us. Unfortunately Gindelalm only opens from May, please take enough food with you for the time of the hike. We will continue up to the highest point of the tour, the Gindelamschneid. From there, we enjoy a wonderful view of Schliersee. We will continue towards Tegernsee via the Berggasthof Neuhaus with an optional stop for food & drinks.
From there we can choose between several alternative routes to Tegernsee perhaps the "Summer Trail." Please read the stats of the hike carefully, it is a relatively long hike and a bit steep in places. I advise to bring walking poles.
After arrival in Tegernsee, we are free to treat ourselves to a refreshing dip (maybe only the feet – haha) in the lake before taking the train back to Munich in the late afternoon.
Distance: approx. 15km, Ascend 570Hm, Net walking time 4hours
Optional meeting point if you come by car: Schliersee train station at 9:56
(in this case, please be aware that this is not a round-trip and you have to organize your transport back to Schliersee)
