Easy but very scenic mountain hike in the Bavarian Pre-Alps: starting from Bahnhof Obergries, this wonderful hike leads to the small mountain peak Sonntraten (1,096 m). The Isarwinkler Aussichtsloge, as it is affectionately known, is extremely popular in both summer and winter. From the highest point you can enjoy a wonderful view of the "Isarwinkel" and the Karwendel mountain range. Train ride approx. 1.2 hours, the hike is about 1.5 hours, with an ascend of Protected content . We can replenish our calories after our hike (optional). The RB56 leaves at 16:03 from Hauptbahnhof (platform Protected content , and I will meet you at Bahnhof Obergries at 17:07. Sunset will be at 18:51 so we have plenty of time. Don't forget a headlamp for our descent from the mountain.
