Opening Evening of the Romanian Film Festival in München

We are excited to invite you to the ceremonial opening of the 19th Romanian Film Festival in Munich! Join us for a memorable evening of cinematic magic featuring two films directed by Bogdan Mureșanu:

SHORT FILM: THE MAGICIAN - Romania Protected content
Sulina, a town in the Danube Delta, in the year Protected content While the arrival of the "Light" and thus civilization is celebrated with pomp (with electricity comes street lighting), the magician Hilarion experiences a disturbing story in the remaining darkness, which could also be a (night)mare.

FEATURE FILM (Comedy): THE NEW YEAR THAT NEVER WAS -Romania Protected content
This touching story takes place in one day, right before the Protected content . The characters try to find normality, safety, love, freedom and purpose in a world filled with fear. In Bogdan Mureșanu's film, six main characters, each in different situations but connected, show what life was like under a dictatorship. The story centers on a television team preparing a festive broadcast, but they need to fix an awkward situation: the actress who recorded a message for the leader has just fled the country. Meanwhile, a colleague from a theater is drafted against his will and faces a moral dilemma as protests erupt in Timișoara, and the regime responds with violence.
