18:30 curator's tour (in German)

Our curators will guide you through the exhibitions they designed and offer you firsthand information and interesting insights into their work.

Curators Anna Schneider and Dr. Damian Lentini guide you through both Capsule exhibitions „Khvay Samnang. Popil“ and „Raphaela Vogel. A Woman’s Sports Car“.

Public tours last 1 hour, cost 3 € and require no reservations.

19:30 Archive, architecture, memory​ (in English)

In July Protected content Protected content was opened as the "House of German Art." It was the first representative building of the National Socialists. A U-turn was made from the post-war period onwards: The free, independent art of classical modernism and the contemporary avant-garde, which had been forbidden by the Nazis, has been presented here ever since. The tour takes a look at the history and architecture of Haus der Kunst as well as forms of artistic engagement and interventions from Christian Boltanski to Ai Weiwei. A special focus is on the current presentation in the Archive Gallery.

Participation is possible without registration. The public guided tours last 1 hour and cost 3 € plus free admission. Please pay for the tour at the ticket counter before the visit begins.

20: Protected content Part 2: Female Artists in Dialogue - Sammlung Goetz in Haus der Kunst (in German)

On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the Sammlung Goetz is presenting three-part exhibition, which is dedicated to female artists and which places their works in a cross-generational dialogue.

The second part of the exhibition will be presented inProtected content former air-raid shelter. The focus here is on the exploration of the body, the testing of its boundaries and the confrontation with social concepts of sexuality, gender and identity in moving images. On display are photographs, films and installations by artists from the Protected content to the present, including Yayoi Kusama, Pipilotti Rist, Aneta Grzeszykowska, Mona Hatoum and Ulrike Ottinger.

The public guided tours last 1 hour and cost 3 €. Free admission. Participation is possible without registration.
