FOTODOKS 2023 – Future Perfect

Under the title Future Perfect, FOTODOKS shows photographic works by 13 international artists and collectives that deal with the current conditions and consequences of climate change. On the one hand, the work focuses on central issues of environmental protection; such as the challenges of final storage of nuclear waste, the consequences of monocultures and factory farming or the role of the building materials industries. On the other hand, the artists deal with the societal and social effects of global warming. They produce an image of the present that is shaped by flight and discrimination as well as by populism and growing climate activism within the youngest generations. Looking in all directions - whether in Brazil, Australia or Bangladesh, in the Dolomites or in the Ahr Valley - it becomes clear that floods, drought and forest fires are affecting the Global South in a dramatic way, but no longer only limited to this area
