Laurie Simmons Dollhouse Photographs (Including Guided Tour)
American artist Laurie Simmons is renowned for her staged photographs featuring dolls enacting stereotypical female roles within domestic interiors. A prime example of her work is the series *In and Around the House* Protected content , comprising 56 black-and-white photographs that show a female doll engaged in various activities within her cozy dollhouse home. Yet this idyll is deceptive; hidden narratives emerge from behind the bourgeois façade. The exhibition *Laurie Simmons: Dollhouse Photographs*—organized in collaboration with the Sammlung Goetz, the Deutsches Theatermuseum, and the Munich Film Festival—presents a selection of works that critically examine the social roles of the American middle class.

Coinciding with the Munich Film Festival, the exhibition also features Simmons’s first film work, *The Music of Regret* Protected content , starring Meryl Streep; this three-part musical brings her objects to life.
