The Protected content safeguards and preserves countless masterpieces of humanity's written and visual cultural heritage in its stacks and vaults: exquisite manuscripts—14 of which are part of the UNESCO Memory of the World Register—precious incunabula and early printed books, rare maps, music collections, the personal papers of famous figures, millions of historical photographs, spectacular artists' books, world-class Orientalia, Hebraica, and Asiatica, and much more...

Due to strict conservation requirements, these treasures are only very rarely on public display. For StabiLiebling, the Protected content opens its vaults and presents a masterpiece from its collections in its treasure chamber on two days each month. Even though all the works shown can be viewed in detail in the library's digital collections, these digital copies cannot replace the aura of the originals.

The Tegernsee Haggadah is a rare late medieval Hebrew manuscript dating from the late 15th century (produced before Protected content . It contains the texts for the Jewish Passover festival but was reinterpreted by Christians at the Benedictine monastery of Tegernsee.
