Solar Eclipse Sunset

Join us for a rare cosmic alignment and a unique way to refill your creative well.

Next Wednesday, a 90% eclipse will blend directly into the Munich sunset, offering a spectacular sight and a very special atmosphere.

We'll watch it from Olympiaberg, with an unobstructed view towards the west-northwest. The eclipse will be visible from around 19:23 until sunset at 20:32, with maximum coverage at 20:15.

I’ll bring a couple of solar eclipse glasses. Update: all taken. Please check the comments if you can get a pair from someone else or bring your own - plus a blanket, and maybe even a picnic or a bottle of wine.

Please note: We’ll spend an hour sitting directly in the evening sun before it partially disappears behind the moon and then sinks below the horizon, so you might want to bring sun protection and regular sunglasses too.

If you stay long enough, you may even see some shooting stars from the Perseids crossing the Munich sky later that night.
Update: Probably not... from 22:00, the Olympic Park fireworks will light up the sky. Check out the additional event and feel free to stay for that!
