Tshethar Ritual - Offering the Gift of Life
Liberating Life: Traditional Buddhist Tshethar Ritual in the beautiful surrounding of Gautinger Schlosspark.
Long Yang e.V. invites young and old for a traditional Buddhist puja in the middle of nature performed by Tulku Khyungdor Rinpoche. In the Buddhist Mahayana tradition, offering sentient beings the gift of life in freedom is an act of generosity that requires compassion and wisdom and strengthens one's own life force: By helping others one helps oneself. With this motivation, animals threatened with death - in this case brown trout - are bought from local fish farmers and released into freedom.
During the Tshethar ceremony, Rinpoche will recite special Mantras, which serve the life force of the liberated animals and the visitors The fish are then released into their new life in the little river Würm. Guests have the opportunity to participate actively by purchasing and releasing a desired number of fish.
