I am considering taking an English teacher position at a local university. Its ironic because I was at the same University seeking a class in Spanish when the administration told me they were in fire need of a new English teacher. Americans are preferred. So I'm thinking about it. I've never taught English before and my educational background isn't in teaching or in languages I'm not sure how well I'd do in such a position either. That said, what I'm seeking is some perspective on what it's like to teach English at a university level. Can I expect students who have zero experience with English? Is 2 million pesos per month a good salary? I'm new to internations so I would like to increase my contacts base as well. Thank you for any personal experiences you can provide.
