Campinas: Sao Paulo's Cultural Oasis

The city of Campinas lies in the south-east of Brazil, is the cultural center of its region (Sao Paulo), and is a hub for the high-tech and motor industries. As you settle into life in this modern city, you can expect to mix with a multicultural society; companies such as IBM, Dell, and Samsung have major bases in the city so it attracts many expats. The city is also home to many theaters, cinemas, and nightclubs — the lively entertainment scene has something to offer everyone, and the outdoor life is equally as exciting. Campinas has a tropical climate but because of its elevation (1,821–2,559 ft), it is cooler than you might expect and is home to subtropical forests and grasslands. Expats moving there will find life in the city expensive, but will be pleased to find out it is reasonably safe during daylight hours.

InterNations is the largest global network for expatriates, with communities in 390 cities across the globe. Get to know fellow internationals in your city, before you're moving, or when traveling somewhere and never feel like a stranger. InterNations makes it easy for you to stay in touch with your expat friends, both online and offline, so you can grow your network of friends and contacts from all over the world. Whether they live in Dubai or Khobar (Eastern Prov.), InterNations allows you to be close to them even if they are miles away.
