VACANCY: SURVEY ADMINISTRATOR FOR A LEADING MOBILITY COMPANY: SALARY NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE/KENILWORTH, CAPE TOWN/STARTING IMMEDIATELY/SOONEST:
This role is within the company’s Research Division. The division runs a number of cycles of surveys, gathering reliable and accurate information required by international Human Resource departments, which is utilised to allow them to accurately manage their expatriates across Africa. The information gathered ranges from pricing baskets of goods, through to school and housing information. The applicant must be fluent in English and also needs to be able to communicate comfortably with field workers in Francophone Africa – predominantly North and West Africa.
Deadlines must be managed very carefully and the ability to negotiate and communicate positively within sometimes difficult and challenging environments is a required skill set of the successful applicant.
The Survey Administrator needs to be assertive, firm, professional and polite. Being able to work under pressure is essential and being quick thinking and observant with high attention to detail is also vital. Due to the varied cultural diversity of the business, patience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required to deal with clients, shop managers and field workers across Africa. In conjunction with this, the individual will also be required to create, build and maintain enduring partnerships to support this endeavour. Whilst this role requires a fair amount of independent work, being able to work within a team environment is important. A creative and lateral thinker with a solid background in market research with vested quantitive data collection techniques is also required.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Recruit and train field workers
Motivate and encourage field workers
Update clients and in house manager on progress of projects
Ensure that project deadlines are met
Ensure that the data collected is of good quality
Negotiate access of fieldworkers into data collection sites
Ensure that the survey system is updated as projects unfold
Create new data collection tools (questionnaires) when necessary
Ensure that field workers are paid timeously
Deal with and sort out challenges that arise during data collections, including identifying bottlenecks and providing solutions
Fluent in English and French – this role requires communication in Francophone Africa
The ability to speak Portuguese would be advantageous
Minimum of three years experience in the field of research/market research
Experience in managing people and projects remotely is compulsory
A good understanding of the socio-cultural life in North and West Africa
Innovative, adaptable and flexible
Problem solving abilities
Excellent negotiation skills
Computer literate and comfortable learning new and unfamiliar systems quickly
