• The climate and nature are a highlight. 91% of expats in Nairobi rate the climate and weather positively and 93% the natural environment, with green space and hikes close by.

• People are warm and easy to know. 78% rate locals as friendly, 80% feel welcome, and 66% say making local friends is easy — well above the global average of 38%.

• It's a good base for family and leisure. Indians praise a balanced work life, dining, local tourism, and 88% rating culinary variety positively.

• English gets you far. 68% of expats in Nairobi find it easy to get by without the local language, above the 48% global average.

• Safety is a real concern. Just 46% of expats in Nairobi rate personal safety positively (vs. 80% globally), and crime shapes daily life.

• Corruption and politics weigh on people. Only 38% rate political stability positively, and Indians describe systems that don't work officially without private workarounds.

• Bureaucracy and the economy frustrate. Just 17% find it easy to deal with local authorities and 24% rate the state of the economy positively.

• Getting around and healthcare have gaps. Only 42% rate the availability of public transportation positively, and healthcare affordability (51%) and quality (53%) draw complaints.

For Indians, Nairobi offers a great climate, beautiful nature, warm people, and a balanced, English-friendly life with room to grow. The trade-offs are safety, corruption, and patchy infrastructure. It rewards those who come for the lifestyle and the opportunity and can manage the security realities.
