News of the World / Virtual Q&A with Director, Star & Crew
A Civil War veteran (Tom Hanks) who travels from town to town reading newspapers for the populace for ten cents per person crosses paths with an orphaned girl (Helena Zengel) taken in by the Kiowa people six years earlier and raised as one of their own. She is being returned to her biological aunt and uncle against her will. Instructed to deliver her where the law says she belongs, they set off on a perilous journey across Texas.
"A rough-and-tumble Texas road-trip movie finds the right balance of character insight and bare-knuckled action." (Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times)
"A journey whose contours and pitfalls we already know well. Nevertheless, it's a pleasure to experience it once more with companions like these." (Robbie Collin, Daily Telegraph)
"Helena Zengel is a marvel. She can be wild in one scene, defiant later, curious the next and emotionally shut down in another. She speaks volumes even without dialogue." (Mark Kennedy, Associated Press)
Live virtual Q&A at 8pm (Munich time) with director Paul Greengrass, actress Helena Zengel, composer James Newton Howard, cinematographer Dariusz Wolski, editor William Goldenberg, production designer David Crank and ccostume designer Mark Bridges - Protected content
