Photo Exhibition “Lisette Model”: Guided Tour in German Language

Guide: Hans-Michael Koetzle, an excellent narrator. His guided tours are very popular and crowded, so I recommend being prepared for that.

The exhibition and guided tour are really worth it so I encourage you to attend even if we are not able to participate as a group.

Lisette Model Protected content is considered one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century. Her images depict urban life with uncompromising directness – from high society to the margins of society.

Kunstfoyer München presents a focused selection of key bodies of work and iconic photographs that reveal Model’s uncompromising vision and her lasting impact on photography.

Lisette Model Protected content brought about a sudden change in photography with her spectacularly direct pictures. Her immediate, humorous, frequently confrontational, yet sometimes also empathetic style of representation revolutionized traditional documentary photography. Her pictures of street-life scenes and portraits combine social realism and emotional expression: “Shoot from the gut!” was her famous credo. This exhibition brings together Model’s most important groups of works from her nearly thirty-year career, from Protected content 1959, including works that have never been on view before.
