Single Room in Fener/Balat (Old city) (Istanbul)

Eccentric cafes, vintage shops, fresh produce pazars, and breathtaking historical sites are steps away from our beloved and central hideaway. You will have a "private bathroom", all amenities, and a mesmerizing view of "Old Istanbul," from the balcony.

Tucked away in beautiful, quaint, Balat; the 4-story house is newly renovated and clean as can be, with giant windows, wood floors, and three total bathrooms, so guests will sleep on their own floor with their own bathroom. The view from the balcony is full of surprises, and we cannot wait for you to see. Our home is bright, quiet, and safe, with every amenity you could possibly need, and a friendly, cultured, and open-minded atmosphere.

You are welcome to use the kitchen for cooking or storing food, and we would be stoked to share meals with you while overlooking a breathtaking view of the cityscape. You will have open access to wifi, and a new washing machine located in your clean bathroom. Everything you might need for cooking, or making tea and Turkish coffee are available, and you will feel the utmost calm and safety.

Balat is an up and coming neighborhood for eccentrics, artists, and local cafe-goers. Recently we have seen film crews here, and it's no surprise; Balat is a haven for photographers and writers looking to capture the essence of colorful, old Istanbul. While it's not uncommon to see small groups of tourists walking the cobblestone streets; Balat is an 'off the beaten path' oasis for travelers seeking a fresh, quaint, and authentic experience. You can feel the magic of this neighborhood the moment you step foot within.

While it feels like a secret village tucked within this massive city, Balat is actually only 10 minutes away by bus to two of Istanbul's most grandiose tourist areas, Taksim and Sultanahmet, and it's a gorgeous walk to reach them and other wonderful neighborhoods as well. The central location and unbeatable access to transportation are just two of the many reasons we chose to live here.

Just a quick walk across the street is the sea, and it's a perfect place for a stroll with a view of Galata Tower right across the water. There you can rent boats, relax in the grass, or taste some of the best fish sandwiches in the city, fresh off the boat. No more than a minute away from home are also markets, bakeries, cafes, and some of the most esteemed historical sites and views in Istanbul. It is the perfect place to come home to.
