Business Development Consultant, German speaking
My client is a successful management consultancy specializing in international assignments on behalf of corporate clients and public funded organisations.
They are now looking for an Economic Development Consultant to join its Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) team and deliver services to its Investment Promotion Agencies (IPA) clients. The candidate must be fluent in German and English.
Their FDI team is in charge of promoting cities, regions or countries to European companies looking to expand their business internationally. It is aiming to attract these companies to the cities, regions and countries it represents.
Your role will be to :
ü Be responsible for and achieve the monthly targets of number of investment leads and meetings set by the Company clients within budget and deadline
ü Speak with directors of companies on the phone (and to a lesser extent face to face) assessing their international strategy and promoting our clients’ service
ü Liaise with the IPA clients on a daily basis and meet them occasionally when they visit the UK or when you are invited in their country
ü Plan and execute emailing and phoning campaigns in the UK to identify companies with investment projects for the IPA clients across Europe and North America
ü Have detailed telephone conversations or face to face meetings with the companies to understand their requirements and the key drivers behind their expansion projects
ü Liaise with the IPA clients and brief them on the companies’ project to help them prepare the relevant market information and put their best case forward in order to win the investment project
ü Advise and follow up the companies until they make their investment decision
ü Update the CRM system on a daily basis
ü Manage visiting programmes for the IPA clients with the organisation of meetings with companies considering an investment in the company’s clients’ regions
ü Attend meetings with companies if requested by the IPA clients
ü Write monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as requested by IPA clients
ü Manage junior staff and research assistant, if/when required
ü Contribute to the Company’s business development, if/when required
Your Profile :
ü Fluent in German and English
ü Able to forge effective business relationships
ü Confident on the phone and philanthropist
ü highly organised with excellent time management
ü Flexible and adaptable
ü Loyal and reliable
ü A Bsc, BA or above in marketing, economics, economic development, business/management or related subject
ü 5+ years experience in international sales & marketing, consulting or economic development/FDI
ü Some understanding of international business and economic development/FDI
ü Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
ü A very good attention to details
ü Excellent summarizing/analyzing skills
ü Experience of desk and internet research
ü A multicultural approach
Nice to have…:
ü Previous experience in FDI, consultancy services, international sales & marketing, preferably in B to B
ü Previous roles in a client facing role, managing projects
