Monitor Inclusive Markets India ( Protected content ), a social-mission-driven unit of Monitor Group, the global strategy consulting firm, is recruiting to its team based in Mumbai.
Founded in Protected content , MIM leverages Monitor’s core consulting capabilities to catalyse market-based solutions to the problems associated with poverty. We believe that greater engagement of the poor at the Bottom of they Pyramid (BoP) in socially beneficial markets is a powerful means of achieving positive social change. Our expertise in this field is recognized internationally and is reflected in groundbreaking reports such as ‘Emerging Markets, Emerging Models’ Protected content
In India, our work goes far beyond research and analysis, to working in the field with entrepreneurs, corporate players, investors, government and other stakeholders, in order to stimulate and drive activity in such markets. Notably, we have successfully catalysed market activity in low-income housing to serve the 21 million households earning Rs. 7,500 – 25,000 per month. Our efforts have led to some 50,000 houses (some at prices as low as Rs.3 lakhs) being sold by over 40 developers in Protected content , and to the growth of housing finance provision for low-income customers, even those in the informal sector.
Whilst we continue to drive market development in low-income housing, our second program in urban water is well underway, and we are actively exploring further opportunities for business models in a range of other sectors. In order to expand our work, we are actively seeking candidates to join our team.
Successful candidates will be joining a small but dynamic team with a global outlook combined with local knowledge and experience. Team members come from a wide variety of backgrounds—from Ivy League and Oxbridge to IIT, urban planning to consulting, commercial startups to microfinance institutions—but all have a strong commitment to and passion for social change.
This is a part-time role, requiring approximately 4 hours/day where the Executive Administrator will work with the Head of Monitor Inclusive Markets India.
In addition to his leadership responsibilities on the MIM team in India, the Head is part of the global MIM leadership team and is a Partner of Monitor Group. The Head is the key spokesperson for MIM India and a sought-after expert on key issues of national interest, e.g. low-income housing, market-based solutions to the problems of poverty.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage email on behalf of the Partner
• Coordinate follow-up actions and communications after telephone conversations, meetings, and conferences
• Ensure material is sent out, meetings are documented, and information is shared with appropriate team members
• Undergrad from a top-quality institution
• Worked in at least one recognized corporate
• Demonstrated interest in the social space
• Exposure to emerging markets – preferably to India
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Presentable in high-value situations
