• It's safe, clean, and superbly run. Standout scores: 98% of expats in Singapore rate personal safety positively, 96% public transport, and 96% getting around on foot or by bike.

• Careers and the economy are world-class. 96% rate the state of the economy positively, 92% political stability, and 80% say the move improved their career prospects.

• Healthcare quality and food stand out. 90% rate the quality of medical care positively, alongside a vast, varied food scene.

• It's a multicultural travel hub. Britons praise the mix of cultures and easy travel, with Singapore scoring 100% for the opportunity to travel.

• Housing and costs are brutal. Just 8% of expats in Singapore rate housing affordability positively and 20% the general cost of living.

• Healthcare is expensive. Only 29% rate healthcare affordability positively, against 61% globally.

• Work-life balance and commutes bite. Only 50% are happy with their work-life balance, and Britons mention long commutes despite the small size.

• It can feel rule-bound and hard to break into. Only 32% say making local friends is easy, and some describe a check-box, rules-first culture.

For Britons, Singapore is safe, efficient, and unbeatable for careers, healthcare quality, and a clean, green quality of life. The trade-offs are punishing housing and healthcare costs and a demanding work culture. It rewards professionals who plan around the price of living.
