As an Editor, the candidate will be responsible for document proofreading, formatting, layout, spelling and grammar checks plus understanding the nature of reports and re-writing analysis in order to make it succinct without losing the original meaning.
Job description
 Responsible for checking documents, ensuring template compliance
 Ensuring the final product is free from grammatical errors, typos or spelling mistakes
 Will be responsible for reviewing content and phrasing, giving suggestions to analysts and making changes in order to maintain structure, formality and style
 Will be responsible for the ongoing editorial training program within the team, consisting in recurrent writing exercises, teaching the styling guidelines and editorial best practices.
Skill Set Required
 Ability to use Microsoft Word for the creation, editing, and review of documents including formatting text and tables, embedding graphics, and using tracking modes
 Ability to use Microsoft Excel for the creation and use of spreadsheets including sorting and filtering data, using basic formulas, and creating graphs
 Ability to use Microsoft Outlook for sending and receiving email, maintaining a work calendar, and scheduling appointments
 Ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint for creating, editing, and viewing presentations including using slide templates, inserting graphics, and printing handouts
 Thorough knowledge of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules
 Excellent written communication skills
 Ability to read and comprehend text rapidly and thoroughly to meet tight deadlines
 Ability to understand and use editing and proofreading marks
 General understanding of the production process, including ability to recognize continuity mistakes, redundancies and styling problems
 Outstanding communication & interpersonal skills
 Financial and economics knowledge would be a plus
Education and experience
 Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or related fields.
 Editorial/ Philology based diploma/degree with a strong industry background with minimum 2 years of relevant experience in editing professional documents.
