UK-China Fusion concert this Friday (Manchester)

We've got a New Sound China UK concert to be held this Friday at 12.30pm at Bridgewater Hall in town as free non-ticket event at Stalls Foyer- welcome to pop over!

Gabriel Prokofiev, composer, grandson of Sergei Prokofiev and composer Effy Efthymiou have taken their musical experiments to a new arena. Their first music compositions for lesser known Chinese instruments and the piano will soon meet the public at the New Sound China UK concert on Friday 25 September at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.

New Sound China UK, founded and directed by pianist and curator Chi-Ling Lok, happens as a free lunchtime concert in the stalls foyer as a part of Bridgewater Hall’s popular series A Little Bite Music, which is designed to introduce new audiences to a diverse range of music.

New Sound China UK is collaborating with Manchester-based Chinese community organisations including the Federation of Chinese Associations Manchester, Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art, Manchester Confucius Institute, Manchester China Forum, Wai Yin Society as well as Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. New Sound China UK is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through the Arts Council England.
