• The culture and nightlife are the heart of it. Paris scores 86% for culture and nightlife and 92% for culinary variety, and Italians love the art of enjoying life — the restaurants, the outings, the offer.

• Careers open up. 49% of expats in Paris rate the local job market positively (above the 38% global average), with strong opportunities in a global city.

• Healthcare is world-class and affordable. 82% rate healthcare affordability positively (vs. 61% globally) and 84% the quality of medical care.

• It's walkable and superbly connected. 91% rate the availability of public transportation positively, 85% getting around on foot or by bike, and 92% the opportunity to travel.

• Housing and costs bite. Just 15% of expats in Paris rate housing affordability positively and 23% the general cost of living, with high food prices on top.

• Bureaucracy is a hurdle. Only 24% find it easy to deal with local authorities, and Italians describe admin processes as long and complicated.

• The weather and air disappoint. Only 51% rate the climate positively and 50% air quality, with grey skies and city traffic.

• The welcome can feel cool. Only 27% say making local friends is easy and 50% feel welcome.

For Italians, Paris offers culture, food, careers, healthcare, and a beautiful, walkable base for exploring Europe. The trade-offs are the housing costs, the paperwork, and grey weather. For culture and career over cost and sunshine, it delivers.
