Job Opportunity: Junior Editor
International Investor, a leading UK-based publishing firm, has an office in Santiago and is expanding its editorial team. Building on the success of our recently published full Economic Report ‘International Investor: Chile Protected content , we are producing a series of Investor Reports, which focus on distinct economic sectors in Chile.
We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic candidate to work as a Junior Editor. The successful applicant will become an integral part of the team and assist the editorial staff by editing interviews; interviewing government officials, leading CEOs and other important economic stakeholders; carrying out research; and writing website content on global issues. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a high-level publishing company with a truly international reach.
This exciting project has the backing of ProChile, the Foreign Investment Committee and the Confederación de la Producción y del Comercio (CPC) and its scope covers Chile’s most interesting economic sectors such as energy, mining, telecommunications, banking & finance, education, among others.
Start date: Flexible
Location: Providencia, Santiago (Metro Cristobal Colon)
Structure: Both part-time and full-time positions available
Edit, format, proof read interview transcripts and other editorial material
Research potential interviewees and interview themes
Prepare interview questions and feature themes
Work with corporate executives to schedule interviews
Assist senior editorial staff in conducting interviews
Produce supplementary editorial content
Manage communications with third parties
Fluent in spoken English and excellent written English
Solid editing and organisational skills
Creative mindset and tenacious attention to detail
Proficiency in standard workplace technology
Basic knowledge of economics, politics and business (preferred)
Fluent in or working knowledge of Spanish (preferred)
