The Top Expat Destinations 2015

Like in 2014, Ecuador remains everybody's darling for low cost of living and ease of settling in, but we have some surprising winners in other categories.

For our country ranking, survey respondents gave individual ratings ranging from one (very bad) to seven (very good) for various aspects of daily life abroad. This method focuses on their personal satisfaction with all areas of expat life.

The ratings were combined according to a variety of topics, and the mean values of these combinations were used to come up with five indices, e.g. Family Life or Working Abroad. The average of these indices, plus the answer to the question: "how satisfied are you with life abroad in general?", makes it possible to generally rank the 64 countries above.
