I'll be working in Kuala Lumpur for the next year.
I am in the process of having a Visa organized, but I am not clear how the payment / tax process is going to work.
I do not own a house in Australia anymore and will be here for the entirety of next year (if this works out as advantageous).
I had previously been informed that this implied I would pay local, and ONLY local, taxes.
The company I am working for have said they think I might have to pay tax in BOTH countries, which is completely unacceptable.
Can anyone enlighten me on this? Bearing in mind that my employers also indicated that the rules have changed recently, although take what they say with a grain of salt, they don't have any Australian employees.
