NATIONAL HUMAN DEVELOPMENT REPORT

Duties and Responsibilities
The editor is expected to produce a report that reflects the quality and the standards established by UNDP corporate policy on minimum standards for the NHDR and also refer to the UNDP Graphics Standard and UNDP Publication Policy where applicable.
Scope of work
Under the supervision of the UNDP Project Manager, the editor will be required to undertake the following tasks:
Provide professional copyediting, proof-reading and all other necessary pre-publication checking of the report, including the annexes and glossary;
Advise UNDP and the original authors on the reports’ readability and appropriateness of language employed; and propose a suitable presentation style to ensure that the main message of the report can be clearly conveyed to the targeted readers;
Consult UNDP on the edited draft for comments and send final report in soft and hard copies, for review and approval;
As the report will go through a series of on-going consultation, the editor should be ready to make changes accordingly as and when it is needed as per the instruction of the Project Manager.
Deliverables & Timeline
The editor is expected to deliver the final edited report no later than 1 month from the receipt of the final draft. A draft edited report should be submitted in both MSWord and PDF formats. The report will then be reviewed by UNDP until agreement on the final result. UNDP reserves the right to terminate agreement due to unsatisfactory performance by the editor.
Terms of payment
The editor will be paid in a lump sum upon the satisfactory acceptance of the final edited report. The payment will cover travel and operational expenses for the deliverable of the outputs.
