Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to serve with Habitat for Humanity Malaysia as the Global Village and Communications Coordinator at their offices in Kuching. This individual will be responsible for international volunteer coordination as well as marketing assistance for Habitat for Humanity Malaysia. This is anticipated to be a 6 to 12 month volunteer engagement.
ABOUT GLOBAL VILLAGE: Habitat for Humanity International’s Global Village volunteer teams build decent, affordable shelter in destinations throughout the world. These volunteers work alongside members of the host community to build or renovate homes, while learning about poverty housing, development challenges and Habitat’s ministry and mission to help eradicate them. The funds raised by these teams help to build decent shelter in the country they visit as well as support the overall Global Village program.
*Coordinate the hosting of Global Village volunteer teams and in-country teams according to organizational standards. *Produce related communications and marketing materials. *Prepare fundraising presentations. *Update website. *Proposal writing and reporting. *Run reports as needed. *Generate mailings. *Other duties as assigned.

LOCATION: Place of assignment is in Kuching, located in the state of Sarawak which is the largest state in Malaysia. Kuching is the administrative capital of Sarawak with a population of 650,000 inhabitants. The city of Kuching and its vicinity have several recreational areas, Wind Cave and Fairy Cave, orangutan wildlife rehabilitation centers in Semenggok and Matang. Malaysia's pioneer telecommunications company provides fixed-line and wireless services. Most areas also receive cellular telecommunication coverage via various service providers who offer pre-paid and postpaid packages, as well as international roaming services. Pack lightweight clothing suitable for warm humid climate, and a lightweight raincoat or umbrella for rainfall seasons.
HOUSING: Accommodation at guesthouse in a shop lot premise. Room is furnished with a double bed, air conditioning, attached bathroom and a personal television. Located 10 minutes’ walk away from the Habitat for Humanity Malaysia office.
