InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Mannheim

Hello to all Americans in Mannheim! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Mannheim? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Mannheim which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: Mannheim is an extremely innovative city. The third-largest city of Baden-Württemberg is a university city known for being the birthplace of the modern car — Karl Benz built the first automobile here — its continued focus on manufacturing with, for example, Daimler, IBM, and Siemens all found in the city, but also for its theaters including the Schillerbühne, as Mannheim’s national theater is nicknamed, its many museums, the local music scene, and much more! With the available buses and trams, as well as the RheinNeckar S-Bahn (suburban train network) connecting Mannheim to most of the rest of Rhine-Neckar area, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in the surrounding cities and towns of the metropolitan region, which are an easy commute away from Mannheim’s center.

Although Mannheim has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Mannheim, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
