• The summer heat is punishing. Only 48% of expats in Dubai rate the climate and weather positively, and the long hot season limits daily life.

• It's expensive. Just 30% rate the general cost of living positively and 29% housing affordability, and premium living adds up fast.

• Work ties your visa to the employer. A job-linked visa and long hours mean security hinges on staying employed.

• Home feels far away. Being away from family comes up as a real emotional cost.
